Challenge

To create an engaging and compelling digital report for National Grid’s annual environment report.

Insight

The electricity network is on a journey to a cleaner, greener future. National Grid needed a way to communicate this journey in a clear, engaging and informative way that clearly demonstrates its environmental targets for the network, whilst reporting on how it will reduce environmental impacts of there direct and indirect operations.

Solution

I developed a highly interactive, digital-first report, incorporating video, motion, and animation to bring the case studies and ambitious environmental targets to life.

How do you present ESG reporting in an engaging way?

Employing a ‘digital first’ approach and primarily using video and animated elements, helped me to be more creative with how I communicated the various targets, case studies and commitments in a compelling and engaging way.

Video and animation was used throughout to great effect, to bring to life and support case studies on various environmental projects.

The final delivery of the report was built as an ‘ebook’, a digital form of a printed book designed to be read on devices like computers, tablets, or smartphones.

The document is highly accessible as it can be shared easily via a simple web link. Plus it can be embedded into pre-exsisting web pages, where it can be viewed and downloaded.
